Kokopelli Triathlon

I did it I finished my first Triathlon! This weekend was so much fun! Stacey the kids, and my mom came down to watch the race. So Friday I met up with them and then took off with Dayle to go pick up our packet over in Hurricane it was funny we had so many questions and we would just watch the people come in and look at each other like what in the He!# are we doing! It was fun though - we got a lot of cool stuff. DayleMarie's family came all the way from California to watch her so it was way fun to see them too!

Later that night we went to dinner I actually went somewhere else because it was going to be nine by the time they ate and I didn't want to eat late and wanted to go to bed early. I swear I didn't get more than three hours of sleep I kept waking up thinking it was time to go - then Josh came in late, and I had weird dreams about the race - so it was quite the night. So when my alarm went off I was ready to go although I was tired. I got everything ready and went to pick up Dayle a little early. When we got there we off course had no clue what we were doing - but with the help of everyone around us especially Dawn Lee (who took first in our division) she was awesome and helped us with everything. It was so funny because she checked my tires and was like girl they are almost flat - go figure.

I kind of psyched myself out by watching the first groups go - the swim looked so far. I knew I would be fine on the bike and run part, but the swim freaked me out. I was nervous until we got started. We had the biggest group go it was unreal. I got kicked and I kicked a whole bunch of people, the worst part was standing in the water getting ready to go it seemed like forever!!! I got a little of course and probably added on a few minutes to my swim - if I was a better swimmer I could maybe compete better in these things. I actually was happy with my time for my first one I got 1:28 and took sixth in my division. When Josh asked me how long it would take me I told him I would be happy to get under two hours - I don't know what I was thinking. The transitions were awesome - in my mind I just kept telling myself I will make up for it on the run.

The most fun was training with Dayle and Liz. Races are awesome when you have people to train and do them with. I was proud of both of them they did awesome. Dayle would probably of beat me if she would of had a road bike!

It was a perfect day we saw a lot of fun people there. Now I am afraid I am hooked and the bad thing is it is an expensive sport!

After the race I went back and watched Stockton and Brylee after their nap - we went to the park and hung out it was fun. After, we met back up with my Mom, Stacey, and Carolyn to shop. Later that night we went to Cafe Rio and Les Mis at Tuachan. I enjoyed the play, but I think I would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't so exhausted. Both Josh and I were struggling to keep our eyes open we didn't get much sleep the night before - not to mention all the adrenaline of the day! We are glad today is Sunday so we can catch back up on our rest!

It was an awesome weekend! Thanks to all my friends and family for their support - you guys are awesome - love ya!
