So last week I didn't have school on Friday or Monday of this week so Josh and I decided to go on one last trip before the baby comes. At first we couldn't decide, but then Josh decided he wanted to go to one more football game. Of course he wanted to go watch the colts play but they had a bye so the next option was Mannings brother which is the Giants. Well they happened to be playing the Titans in New Orleans. So we decided to fly out to Nashville Tennesse and drive to New Orleans to explore the south. Well this is how the trip started out - I thought our flight was at noon on Friday but it was at 11:40. Josh had a doctor's appointment for his knee that morning at 9:40 so we thought it would be fine. Well he called me at 11:00 and said he was on his way, well when he came to pick me up the garage wouldn't shut so that put us behind, we pulled up to the airport 15 minutes before our plane was supposed to take off actually probably 10 - they weren't even going to let us on so Josh asked them if it was possible if we could get on without checking our bags I thought oh no way - but they said ok. So that is exactly what we did we threw the bags in the truck and headed out. Of course I was stressing out, what was I going to do. I at least had my make up and a toothbrush, so we decided we would go shopping the next day and just have it be our Christmas for the year. So we got to Nashville went to our hotel and the next morning woke up and went to get our rental car and headed to the outlets. We actually had fun shopping, but it might not be fun to open clothes at Christmas you have already worn.
After we went shopping we went to the Gaylord Hotel to check it out - it was amazing! That place is huge it was beautiful inside. Thanks to my mom for the suggestion (she stayed there last year). After that we went and bought us some tickets to the Grand Ole Opry Show for that night and took off to see if we could find some underwear by the Tennessee Temple. We found the temple it was in a beautiful area with gorgeous houses and yards, but of course no where to buy garments. So we ended up having to wash them at our hotels. We drove around the area it was fun to see it out there.
That night we headed to the Grand Ole Opry Show it was fun we got to hear Keith Anderson and Whitney Duncan so it was pretty sweet. Then we headed down town to the Wild Horse Saloon to eat and dance. It was so so so much fun. They had the biggest dance floor and taught you line dances and had slow dancing it was great. Josh even got out there and learned a line dance I was so proud of him - although he stepped on a few people he did great. The food was actually really good too! So that was probably my favorite day. We did walk around down town and there were awesome bands playing in bars everywhere it was sweet!
The next day we took off to head to Alabama - our next stay! The drive was beautiful, on our way we saw signs for the Jack Daniels Distillery that my Vice Principal told us about - so we decided to go check it out. It was actually really cool - the drive was beautiful to the visitors center I loved it out there. But the tour was great it was amazing to me to watch how they still do it the same as back when it first started. Of course, a little more updated but pretty much the same. It was crazy how the whole place smelt like alcohol. I never new whiskey was made out of really healthy stuff - pretty crazy! We actually barely made it to a tour the last one was supposed to be at 4:30 and we got there at 4:45, but they let us go and even for free!!!
By the time we were done it was dark that was the only bummer deal because I couldn't see where we were and the scenery, but it was worth driving out to see.
So we continued to Alabama we went through Mississippi so we actually hit four states during the weekend. We stayed at a really nice hotel in Birmingham Alabama it was really pretty too! It's just like they say a lot of rolling hills - very green! We didn't really get to check this place out because of time we wanted to get to the game early. So we got up around 6:30 got ready and headed out. Well while we were driving I asked Josh what time the game was (which remember was our main event) he said I am pretty sure 4:30 but get the papers out to be sure. Well at this time it was noon and when I looked on the papers it said the game started at NOON - yes we were an hour away and our tickets were at the hotel waiting for us so we had to go there first. So we made it before half time which was fine because football games are long. We had great seats and it was a lot of fun. I swear we were on t.v. because we sat right by Elvis who they kept filming.
After the game we toured around New Orleans on the Trolly, hit the blues festival, and then headed to Burben Street for dinner. Talk about trashy - I never care to go there again. It was worse then the strip. Actually over all I don't care to go back to New Orleans it wasn't my favorite place. I did have Catfish for dinner and it was alright. I was ready to go back to the hotel though.
Next day we decided to get up go check the cemetery out (they do it above ground - really weird) and then get to the airport at a good time so we weren't actually pushing it this time. Well when we got there they told us we didn't have any reservations. So they took our itinerary and said did you check this out - the guy had booked us to come home on the 19th of November instead of October 19th. Every flight was booked - we still stayed at the airport hoping to get on stand by - but didn't. No worries my grades were due the next day - I didn't have a sub so I was a little stressed, but we took care of it and ended up flying out early the next morning which worked out to be a way better flight. My sub was great and everything was ok. Although the new clothes and bag we bought got sent on our stand by flight and got lost I just picked it up last night. So that was how the whole trip went. We did have a great time, but it made me realize I needed that kind of trip because I know I am ready to be done traveling for awhile which is good.
I did love Tennessee I would go back and visit there again, but not New Orleans.
We made it home right in time for Josh's doctor's appointment and for him to decide that day he was getting surgery the next day. Let's just say it has been a CRAZY WEEK!!!!

Reagan! My brother is on a mission in Birmingham Alabama! I wish I would have known you were going there I would have had you check on him for me! I'll have to call you so we can chat about it!
That is probably the funniest story I have ever heard!! I just read it out loud to my mom and dad...we all laughed :)haha
Holy crazy trip! I dont think I could leave my bags behind (especially if my running shoes were in them!:) and just wing it, I would have been a complete wreck. Its so fun that you were able to do it though and now have that fun memory to look back and laugh at.
That was incredible. I don't think I've heard a story like that forever!!! Oh, the days, when you can just pick up and leave at the drop of a hat. It sounds fun and very memorable. I wish I could have done it!
