Easter Weekend 2010

Happy Easter!!

We had a good weekend we went up home and saw the family. Friday was the Bastian Easter Party it started at four Josh was a little late due to a flat tire. Doris always does so much fun stuff she had a little Easter Egg thing for the babies, then the Easter Egg Hunt for the older grand kids, and of course the hunt for the Adults. It was fun - although Jett had a really rough time. I think he just didn't feel good, was tired, and way over stimulated he isn't used to all the kids and noise. So he freaked out and I could not calm him down I tried everything it was so sad. Finally when Josh got there he came downstairs and helped me out. He finally calmed down and we took him upstairs and he did okay, but he fell asleep in his car seat instantly and was exhausted from crying so hard. Of course when you want them to be angels they have a rough time right!!! It was still fun the food was great and it was fun to see everyone. Brandi's little Clara has grown so much same with Dacie and CassieLynn. It had been a while since we had seen any of them. We have a lot of babies in the family it is great!!! Doris has to be exhausted by the time the parties are over, but she does a great job!

That night we colored eggs at my mom's so we could have our big Egg Hunt in the morning. Stockton won the overall egg, I got best landscape, and Josh got something my mom had to make up so he would win something - ha ha. He didn't color very many because he and Lance went and played basketball.

The Easter Egg Hunt was great as always - my Mom spends a lot of time getting it together - she hid a ton of eggs she has to get up so early - what a trooper, but we look forward to it every year. See my mom hides eggs in our property, the neighbors, the empty lot across the street, and the football field and we aren't allowed to the next place until she says so. She also hid two silver eggs and one gold egg. I found one silver and Lance found the other two. So guess who the winner was - of course Lance!!! I swear he always wins!! It was pretty funny Josh had cut a hole in my bag as a joke before we started I caught him and of course let him have it but what was funny was he was losing his eggs left and right and I would pick them up. I told him that's what happens when you try to cheat and do it to someone else. So I did score a few from him which I didn't feel bad about. It was fun, but it will be good to have Nathan back in the runnings to give Lance and Josh a run for their money. It was a little different without him. Lance did try to push me over a few times, he felt bad so he gave me one egg that was empty of course he kept the money.

After the big hunt we cleaned out our eggs I had 47 dollars plus candy and a gift certificate to Wingers. I swear my Mom has to start filling those eggs a month in advance. They spoil us as always! When we were all done we got ready to head up the moutain (or hill).

It was a little chilly up the mountain but still fun as always. We had a good turn out and lots of great food. I don't know if I can ever stop this tradition I have been doing it since I was a baby it's so fun to see everyone and be outdoors. Jett wasn't having it up the mountain though so I took him and Josh back home after lunch and went back up for a while. Jett just didn't feel good that weekend.

Easter is one of my favorite holidays. Not to mention the real reason we celebrate it - which was great to have conference the same weekend to remind us. I also love conference weekend - sleep in, relax, veg, get spiritually uplifted, it doesn't get better than that! What a great weekend! Thanks to our family for all they do for us to make holiday's so great!

Looks like you had a fun easter. I love the picture of Jett with his bunny ears on. He is such a doll.

Seriously, can I come to Easter at your house! Hello, I could use some of that loot. My boys think they are doing good with quarters, nickles, and dimes! Dollar bills are awesome!!!
