We are just on our way back from a super fun trip. We went to Cancun for a week with three couple friends of ours: Josh and Jamie Terry, Jessi and Tanner Nielson, and Jill and Rob Egbert. We had a great time. Everyone got along so well and I think enjoyed the trip a lot. We stayed busy pretty much the whole time and I am going to give you are agenda in a minute, but before I do I have to say that it was super super fun, BUT I will never leave my boys for that long again especially that young. It seems like an eternity since I have seen them. I am just praying that they will not be mad at us when we get back. We skyped Jett one day and he cried the entire time it broke my heart so we didn't do that again I couldn't even talk to him it made me to sad. I swear Colt has already changed in a week and I told Josh I hope he hasn't forgotten me. They have been well taken care of. The Grandma's loved spending time with them. They slept good and played hard so I am sure they were better off then I was at times. On my birthday I really struggled just wanting to be with them. So I am sitting on a plane counting down the hours until I get to see their smiling faces. At least I hope they are smiling!
So back to our trip. We flew out Tuesday morning and that was hard obviously to say goodbye to the boys, but we made it safe and got into Cancun around oh geez I forgot but it was later in the evening so we got some food and checked and went to bed. The next morning we slept in and then met everyone down stairs to get all our scheduling done for the week well I should say the boys got it all taken care of because it was a process. Why they finished up we went out to the pool and just relaxed enjoyed the ocean view, chips and guacomale and just did whatever it was nice. It too the guys quite a while to finish. When they were done we hung out ate played cards, and then went and got ready and went to dinner. We went to the hibachi grill that night and it was really good. I can't remember if it was that night that the boys played ball but they did one night and loved it.
Thursday we went to Isla Mirahes and island across from Cancun and hung out at the resort, played a little volleyball, rode in the paddle boats and floating tractors, and shopped down town. I think everyone enjoyed that resort a lot because it was more relaxing and low key. We got back and got ready relaxed and went to the Italian Restaurant. (not as good, but ok!)
Friday - everyone but Jessi, Tanner, and myself went to Chitza Nitza I just didn't want to travel that far where I had been before and either did Jessi. So we just slept in and chilled at the resort I got another massage oh I forgot that is what Josh and I did Wednesday we did the spa for a couple hours. We got massages, pedicures, and manicures it was wonderful. Anyway, I actually slept late and went for a long run, then met Jessi and Tanner for lunch. Then we walked on the beach down to the Beach Palace which was a longer walk then we thought. We chilled there for a while then walked to the mall and checked it out and got a taxi back. When we got back we chilled at the pool then went back to get in our jett tubs and relax. Shortly after the rest of them got back and had a great time. We got ready and went to the Mexican Restaurant. Again pretty good. I have to admit this was one of my favorite days just doing whatever whenever!!!
Saturday - we got a taxi and went to Playa De Carmen and checked out the resort for a bit and headed to Cozumel for the day. We rented scooters there and had fun driving them around. We hit up the resort there and hung out had lunch, snorkeled, this was my birthday so Jamie had them bring me a cake and sing. So everyone helped make it a special day. We soaked up some sun and headed out on the scooters to Paradise Beach. This beach was sweet it had all sorts of water toys, a trampoline, a huge slide, a climbing wall, a rocking blowup thing, jett skis, you name it. Even though the water REAKED it was still super fun. There was a pool there and showers so we stayed there for a while and then headed back in to shop and make the six o clock feri back. Us girls all got super cute dresses back at the shops I think Josh tried to surprise me with it, but I pretty much always caught them in their surprises. The lade came up to me at the resort and asked me if I asked for a cake and I said what cake and Jamie was like shhhh it was funny. But it was nice of them both.
We didn't get back to the resort until later, but we decided we were sick of the resort food so we went to Chilis to end my b-day with a good salad. It was pretty expensive but it was super yummy we were all ready for some american food I think. We took a bus back and went to bed we were all pretty tired and wet.
Sunday - We had to get up a little early to meet our limo to take us to the Moon Palace for our spa treatments. My Josh and Josh Terry went golfing while the rest of us got massages. Before our massage I went running and checked out the resort. I have to say I wish we would have stayed at that palace resort it is huge and pretty sweet. I enjoyed my run and also my massage. All three of my massages ( I know I got spoiled trip) were amazing!!!! We saw deer, iguana's and some other weird racoon animal all over. Josh said one of them followed them for three holes. I think they goofed off more then golfed. But they had a lot of fun. After our massages we hung out at the resort and then headed to Wet N' Wild. It was fun to go with a group to a water park, but it wasn't the biggest park so we weren't there very long. When we got back we went and got some food played cards hung out then went to bed I think I can't remember. The boys might have played ball that night.
Monday - once again we got up early but this one was probably the most adventurous of all. We headed out to go swim with the whale sharks. It was about a 20 minute drive into town, but when we got there you could see the rain clouds all around us actually you couldn't even see a clearing anywhere. I knew Jessi was really nervous and didn't really want to go especially when it started poring rain. They made us wait until it stopped. When it stopped we got in a boat, but it started right back up as we took off, but it didn't stop us. We were in this speed boat getting drenched with rain that felt like hail drops hitting you I was in a cotton dress so I was freezing. We honestly went an hour or two out in the middle of the ocean. I was a little nervous at first, but got really nervous when the lightning starting hitting everywhere around us. I was going to be mad if we went through all that and didn't see the sharks but sure enough we did and they were amazing so the trip was totally worth it. They were enormous. I was so cold I didn't want to get in especially in the middle of the ocean but everyone did it so Jamie and Jessi and I decided to jump in, so we jumped in right next to one and holy cow they were even more amazing in the water. They have the biggest mouths I have ever seen. It truly was probalby a once in a life time experience. They only go there and Austrailia and come to the top of the water like that to eat. So it was pretty sweet. Josh of course really loved it. We got some sweet pictures. Even though Josh loved it he swallowed quite a large amount of salt water which made him hurl like five times over the boat Josh Terry got it on video it was hilarious. They had to slow the boat down and everything. I actually felt really bad for him. But he said he felt much better afterwards. It was pretty disgusting. I didn't feel to good myself so I took a half of a dramamene and it knocked me out. I couldn't even keep my eyes open. I was dragging for quite a while. They took us back to a beach on Isla Mirejues and we snorkeled for a while then headed back and ate shrimp salsa (I didn't of course yuck!) The crappiest part was waiting for our shuttle back to the resort they took forever! When we got back we were all starving so we had lunch hung out went back and relaxed and then met up for a romantic last night which was dinner on the beach. It was very pretty and enjoyable. The food wasn't my favorite but it was so nice to end it like that with Josh. We danced and just enjoyed each other. Afterwards it was time to wrap it up so we went up and packed our stuff up and went to bed since we had to get up at 4 a.m. to get our shuttle to the airport at 4:30 a.m.
We are now on a plane arriving into Salt Lake. And I am pretty tired but am soooo excited to see my boys. I have to say we had a lot of fun. It was nice to have friends go on vacation with us and have people to do stuff with. We danced a few nights down at the club and that was super fun I felt like I was back in high school. We just enjoyed each other and our spouses and had super fun. Everyone got to know each other better and I think would love to do something like this again and even hang out more. So I am glad we had the opportunity. It was fun to rekindle my relationship with Josh we have been pretty busy with our two little boys and forgot how much we love to travel and just be with one another. We did decide our trips will be shorter and most of them will be with the boys, but we still like to take trips with just us. I am so lucky for a husband that loves to enjoy life and is people friendly he gets along with everyone and wants everyone to feel comfortable and happy. He would do anyhthing for anyone. He went above and beyond for my birthday and like always can't wait to give me my surprises becauses he loves to spoil me. I love him so much and enjoyed another great trip with him and our amazing friends.
I will post pictures soon hopefully it will be tough to decide on which ones to post because we had so many fun ones. I wish I had someone to take a picture of my face when I get home:)))
Last of all a big thanks to everyone that helped out with our boys and work and everything. We owe everyone big time especially our mothers and Morgan. It was so nice to know things were being taken care of.
BAck to the dry heat baby here we come!
