ALASKA TRIP!!!
Alaskan cruise itinerary !!!
First of all the Cruise has been amazing !! First day was of course getting on the ship which is always a great time:)!! We took off and traveled that night and all the next day so we started with a boat day which josh isn't a fan of but to be honest it has been so nice to just have josh not stressed and have no service so his attention was present I loved it ! Anyway we stayed pretty entertained with shows, cards, visiting, and of course eating ! The next day which was Monday we got off in Juneau where we went whale watching. I thought for sure I would get sea sick, but the water was nice and calm. It was a little chilly, but it didn't rAin on us during the tour which we were so lucky for. We were also very lucky to come upon a group of hump back whales that were doing what they call a bubble net feeding where the whales have a certain group that they stick with and they go around in a circles making bubbles and basically making these little fish think they are in a net so they gather together and the domenant female goes up through the middle to feed then the rest come up around the circle and get the remainder of the fish. We saw the same group feed the whole time we were out there it was super cool and of course beautiful ! They are amazing creatures. Our tour guide luke and captain Scott were super great too !! When we got back we went and ate at the twisted fish which was super yummy we all had some type of salmon or halibut and it was yummy. After that we walked to a tram and headed to the top of the MTn to look out over Juneau it was a little pricy for the short ride but was very beautiful and it was raining when we went up but settled down when we got there! Great view ! After the tram it was time to head back to the ship. Great day learned a lot about Juneau. you have to either take a fary or fly to get in no Rhodes lead into Juneau. Very cool day !
Tuesday : Skagway another fantastic day ! We started off going on a train ride. We had a great tour guide on the way up she has done some amazing things. Her name wAs stanley. Skagway was very small about 900 people live their 600 live year round. Anyway the ride up was beautiful and very educational. when we got on the train we got to ride right next to the edge of the MTn and get great views on the beauty of the area. We also saw the trail "dead horse trail " That everyone took to go to Skagway to find gold. ( it was a lot of people with a lot of money running from the law mainly) You had to have 2000 pounds of goods to enter or they wouldn't let you through because it was a fact that you wouldn't survive through the winter if you didn't have that much to live off of. Several animals died falling off the trail. It was a very narrow path and crazy terrain. It Gets very cold and windy at the top of Skagway. You can drive into Skagway but winter weather would be scary ! Of course it was called Skagway because of all the brothels. After the train ride we shopped a little, had lunch then headed out to go zip lining ! We took another 20 minute ride on another sweet ride to the base camp. I tell you this place was sweet I've never zip lined like this before. We got to do tricks, we had competitions, learned a ton and got to sink in the beauty around us. We had like 10 lines to go on and each was different and exciting ! Definitely the thriller of the trip. Great tour guides once again. We had a full day of adventure it was great ! And again absolutely beautiful !!!!
Wednesday: we were on the ship again. But it was a spectacular day because we went up into glazier bay. The water was such a different color so amazing and the air wAs so crisp you would look across from you and think the glazier wAS Close but it was actually miles away. When chunks would drop off the glazier it made a huge rumble sound. It was calving when it broke off. The natives called it white thunder. We again learned a ton about glaziers and feords so josh was in heaven and everyone enjoyed it very much too! We got to see three I believe. I only saw two, but the biggest one was spectacular. The name of it was marjerie!! It was 275 feet above water ! After we left the bay we went to a couple of seminars, got a massage, hung out, and worked out so it was a good day !
Thursday : we got off the ship early and headed out to Ketchikan. Are excursion that day was definitely the most breathe taking!! we got to go on a sea plane and see the areA from above. WOW is all i have to say. Lakes, trees, green moss, clear crisp air, it is just like I said breathe taking. We landed on a lake half wAy through and took pictures and took it all in. We had a sweet plane, the tour guide on this ONE wasn't as great not so social but the experience tops many things ! It was called mystic feords. We didn't get to stay long at Ketchikan so when we were done we went shopping again and that was fun they had great shops I actually liked Ketchikan town the best it was so pretty. They said that was the best weather they've had in months the sun wAs shining it was great day. We definitely lucked out on weAther this trip ! Josh got me a mammoth ivory necklace for a suvineir and we got tons of stuff for the boys ! It was fun.
Friday : we had a boat day until 7 and then we got off in Victoria falls ! We headed downtown to check things out. It was a beautiful city full of flowers, gardens, and beautiful buildings ! We basically just toured around shopped a little took pictures then headed back. We were ging to try to go to the busche gardens but we didn't quite make it there ! We were l pretty tired we could tell the vacation was about to come to an end! We couldn't have asked for a cooler vacation with our family. We had an amazing time thanks to mom and dad that made this all possible ! We are definitely spoiled children. But we appreciate everything they do for us.
We are excited to see the kids. It's been a long time so I can't wait to squeeze on them !!
