Monroe 24th Celebration Weekend!

Let's just say Monroe is pretty much the place to be on the 24th I swear it just gets better and better, but that means more and more people I swear. The town really does go all out for the 24th it is hard to ever want to miss it - that's why we don't! We actually went up on Wednesday and stayed at the Mill's cabin. It is such a beautiful cabin and they were so super nice to let us go stay. Jordan was at our house visiting and I was telling him how sick of the heat we were and he said go to the cabin - so that's just what we did. We went for a fun dumb buggy ride, played outside, went for walks, and just relaxed. It was wonderful!! We stayed until Friday because I had my 10 year class reunion ( I can't believe I am that old already!) so we had to leave a little earlier then we would have liked to but it was still way fun. It is so super nice up there and so great to get out of the blasting heat in St. George. When I had no kids I just couldn't say one bad thing about St. George loved it all year round now having Jett I really can't stand the Summers. I told Josh we needed a Summer home somewhere else for a few months because I need to be able to go outside more.

So back to the 24th - we came down Friday and went to my Class Reunion which I felt bad Jamie and Amy tried to get a big thing together but no one would respond so we just met at the park. Not very many people showed up but it was still fun to see those that did and catch up. It's crazy to see how everyone changes and has families now and is going every different direction. Such is life right!

After the reunion we hung out until it was time to go to the big 3 on 3 tournament. I was a little bummed because I couldn't play this year, but I didn't dare I am to competitive and would end up hurting myself same reason I didn't run the milk run because I would push myself to hard to win so I just ran on my own that morning.

It was actually nice to just be able to mingle and watch all the games instead of being worried about playing. I did miss it though! One of these years we might win it - I don't know though I am losing all those skills by the day.

Josh played with Lance, Reggie, and a kid named Jaxon (Jadie Parsons boyfriend) he was really good and helped them out a lot. They won two and barely lost their last one or they would have played for the championship. I guess they were up by 1 and there was like a few seconds left and the kid just chucked it up there and it went in. I didn't get to watch that one I had to come home with Jett he had a rough night. He has actually been not doing so well right before bed I am hoping it is just because he is teething.

The St. George boys actually played the Bishop boys for the championship and lost - I guess it was a good game. I think it made the St. George boys feel bad that my family was cheering for the locals, but that is just how it goes. So they all didn't get home until close to 2:00 A.M. Late night - I would have never made it that long!

Next morning was of course the big parade and festivities. The parade was way long and had a lot of good stuff including a ton of candy. We hung out with the family and then after the parade Jett was tired so of course Josh volunteered to take him back home for a nap and skip all the mingling at the park. It was okay because he did fall asleep on the way even to my Mom's. So my mom and I went to the park and had a Navajo taco and visited with everyone. It was fun to see so many people. I just love the 24th. Like I said the community does such a great job.

That night we went to a little Broadway and watched Bailey and Abbey sing. They are both so talented I was amazed when I listened to them. So that was fun, then we went home and had dinner and then walked up to the concert and waited for the fire works. We actually had to take Jett home and put him down so we ended up just watching them right outside of my parents house which is still a great view. Alesa and her kids came and same with Rusty and Becky and the kids so it was fun. The fireworks woke up Jett so we had to go in and calm him down, like I said he has been struggling to go down at nights this last week it's really weird hope it's not a habit.

Next morning woke up went to church and headed to Josh's parents for dinner. We stayed there and visited and had a great dinner and then headed back home. So it was a great weekend. I was definitely exhausted when we got back. Now we are just doing laundry and catching up to head back up there for the big Bastian Reunion. It should be a lot of fun Rusty and Becky have put a lot of time into it. So we will let you know how that goes next post!!!

Happy Pioneer Day ( last week!!!)
