Ties That Bind
So in Relief Society this week we had a challenge to start working harder at our personal records and Sherrie Penelton gave us the cutest book with a different boxes of things to write on so I am going to try and do a couple a week and see if I can get this book done in a few months.
What Lessons Did I take as a child that have carried into my adult life:
I took a lot of lessons I started piano very young and clogging, I did dance later on and I continue to play the piano and love it even though there were times I wanted to quit I am glad my mother made me keep going. I do not clog any more I dance when I am being crazy or for fun, but I am glad I had all those lessons. Oh geez I did play the saxophone and that only lasted a few years. ha ha
What was my first pet?
My first pet was a dog I mainly remember blacky and freckles we didn't have a lot of pets that is probably why I am not a huge pet person but I did love blacky and freckles but I believe Megan was before them and she ran away and never came back and I think the other two got shot by my Dad- sad. We did have a pet lamb or goat and we fed it with a bottle and it loved us so that was a fun pet for a few weeks! That is about it though.
What is my favorite holiday and how do we celebrate?
Wow this is hard because of course I love Christmas - all the traditions and the spirit is so strong, but I also love Easter because we have great traditions then too. For Christmas we always have a big Roberts dinner the night before and Christmas Eve we usually watch old family videos at my moms and open up pajamas. My mom and I would always make bread to take to the neighbors or chocolates and we both continue to make carmel popcorn and chex mix with chocolate drizzled on the top. Christmas always goes by way to fast. Easter we have our annual big easter egg hunt that my Mom puts on, but the night before we color the eggs and of course have prizes for that too. The hunt has just gotten bigger and bigger every year. Then we pack up and go on the mountain with the big Roberts Family and roast hot dogs and roll the eggs down the hill. We have done that since I was a baby and we continue to do so, so I look forward to it each year.
