New York and Boston Trip!

We just got back last night from a super fun trip to New York and Boston. I wanted to hurry and write things down before I forgot them. So we left Thursday night and took a red eye flight which I thought I would hate but it was actually okay I slept good and felt good the next day so we didn't waste a whole day traveling which was nice. So friday morning we went to our hotel and left our bags there until we could check in and headed out for the day. We met up with Bridget and Derek and Brenda (Derek's cousin that lives in Boston and knows New York and Boston very well and she was amazing loved loved loved her!) anyway so we rode bikes in Central Park for a few hours that was interesting. JOsh and Derek got flipped off because Josh almost took her out because he was on his phone and didn't see her so Derek yelled and scared the girl anyway then some locals were yelling at them dropping the f bomb because they were riding their bikes the wrong way - those boys are always doing something out of control. After bike riding we went to a restaurant that they had heard of for frozen hot chocolate and it was really good I think it was Serendipity or something like that. I have to go back a little the weather was absolutely perfect Friday so we were loving the city that day. After dinner we took the bus tour for awhile to learn more about New York oh wait I think we walked back and got ready to ........................Got ready and went out for dinner at a Jazz Club. We took the subway there which is how everyone gets around there or walks no one drives which you can see why when you are there, there are sooooo many people that live there where Derek and Bridget were staying it cost the guy 5000 a month for a one room one bath 700 square foot apartment. Crazy huh! Anyway dinner was really good - different but good it is always nice to try new things and get a little more culture in our lives. Jazz bands are pretty amazing. After we ate we headed to time square which was awesome to see at night and the thousands and thousands of people just hanging out and the bright lights, music, it's just another world pretty crazy. It was a pretty night so we all walked back to our hotel we went up and checked out where they were staying they had a sweet view at the top of their hotel, but I really can't imagine living like that. More facts 80 percent of New Yorkers eat out for every meal where 40 percent do in other cities. Isn't that crazy again you see why when you are there. The guy had a stove and had never used it in two years. Crazy!!! So we were exhausted so we headed back and hit the sack. We actually slept in way to late but it was super nice then we met up with them at the 9/11 memorial. That is a really neat thing to visit it just really puts you in that moment a little more and makes your heart just ache for all the people that were affected that day. I just really can not still imagine being there when it happened. So that was a high light of the trip for sure too. The water falls were the one of the largest man made in the world I believe! After that we got some yummy New York Pizza and headed to the bus to have a little tour. It was a fun tour it gave a lot of fun and interesting facts about New York. We took it up town and walked to a barbecue place that Derek said we had to go to but the wait was so long they ended up ordering to take it to go so Josh and I just took off so we could try to go get show tickets to Jersey Boys. When we got there we made it just in time to get front row seats for a dang good price so we had to hurry and grab something to eat, but it was worth it because the show was amazing. The singers sounded just like the Four Seasons group they were amazing there were a few f words but it really was a great musical. After the show we walked back through time square again and back to our hotel. The next morning we had to get up early to catch a train to Boston. We planned on seeing a lot on this train ride, but we both zonked out for pretty much 3/4 of the ride. It was still an adventure and fun to go through different places. When we got there we were actually able to check into our next hotel early and get ready for the game and head out and tour around before it started. We had to take another train to the game and it was the slowest train EVER!!!!! But either way it would have been a process going and coming back so it worked out okay. We got to walk around before we left and then after the game we met up with the crew for dinner at an amazing place called cuchi cuchi quite the name I know but it was DELICIOUS so different then what we ever have and soooo yummy! I was glad they took us there. Back to the game it was soooo much fun we had to buy some Patriot's clothes to keep us warm so we were cheering for the Broncos in Patriot gear pretty hilarious but it kept us undercover a little bit. Our seats were pretty high up but we were just glad we got to go. It really was lot of fun. Next Day we woke up and went for a run around Boston and actually probably saw more doing that then just walking it was a pretty run when we got back we got ready and headed out to a part of Boston we hadn't seen and then headed back to Quincy Square to shop and have lunch close by. We didn't get to go to the Restuarant Josh remembered and loved so much but the one we went to was just as amazing. It was an Italian place called Antonico Foro or something it was really good. Then we walked back to our hotel and headed to the airport. So there was a lot of walking on this trip and a lot of site seeing it was great short in each place but enough of time to see what we wanted. I was ready to see the boys! They did awesome thanks to Janessa, Emily, and my Mom for helping us out. They took good care of them. It's amazing how much you miss them some guy on the train coming back from the game was talking about marriage and kids and how it doesn't even sound fun and this and that and f this and f that and everything was negative and I thought you know what you are missing out on true happiness yes marriage can be hard and so can kids, but what gives you more joy then your family nothing really and the reason he is probably so negative is because he doesn't have that in his life. Makes you realize how lucky you are and how blessed you are to live where you do and grow up how you did when you go somewhere else it always makes me take a step back and think about my life and how blessed I am and how I should never ever complain!!!! Thanks Derek, Bridget, and Brenda for letting us tag a long it was so much fun!!!
